Better Together Solutions helps people and organizations use technology to strengthen their communities. We mix software development, mentorship, and community engagement to make collaboration easier, more inclusive, and more empowering.

Our work is grounded in a simple belief: when people come together with purpose, great things happen.

What We Do

Build useful tools
We design and develop web applications using open-source technology, with a focus on the Community Engine, a platform built to help communities share knowledge, organize projects, and support one another.

Support learning and growth
We mentor new developers, run workshops, and provide guidance for people who want to learn how technology works and how to apply it in meaningful ways.

Host and manage platforms
From community forums to publishing tools and local cloud storage, we help groups choose, set up, and maintain the right tools for their needs.

Help people collaborate
Often the hardest part of technology is not the software. It is helping people connect, coordinate, and contribute. We bring experience in community building, digital engagement, and cooperative problem solving.

A Cooperative Vision

Better Together Solutions is working toward co-founding a platform worker co-operative to steward the Community Engine. The long-term vision is a shared digital ecosystem that is owned, governed, and developed by the people who use it. This includes platform partners, technologists, contributors, and community members.

The cooperative model reflects our belief that technology should serve the common good and build local capacity, not extract value from the very communities that rely on it.

Our Approach

We focus on:

open-source tools that communities can shape and improve
distributed ownership instead of top-down control
learning by doing instead of gatekeeping
belonging and purpose as core ingredients for change
cooperation as a practice, not a slogan
