What would happen if technology worked for people, not for profit? Have your say and make it happen!

What if our key communications and collaboration infrastructure was designed and owned and operated locally by people who you actually know, like, and trust, instead of a faceless corporation that only cares about its own profit and growth at your expense.
Instead, what if technology served our communities, instead of just corporations?
In our world where corporations enshittify everything, the thought of people-powered technology seems like an out-of-touch fantasy. It's fantastic, but not fantasy.
Better Together Solutions and members of the Better Together Community are working towards co-founding a Community Technology Co-operative to support climate, environmental, and social justice Activists, Co-operatives, community groups, non-profits, unions, and other values-aligned positive-impact community organizations.
This community service co-op will provide an inclusive, safe and welcoming online home (digital third space) where the people and communities that depend on this technology are owners, not products, and co-ordination and communication is local, private, and secure.
Participate in our Community Technology Survey and make your perspective heard. We are looking for diverse perspectives from the general public and community orgs. All are welcome! Anonymized preliminary results will be publicly released as part of our first Community Technology Report on May Day, May 1st 2026.

Big thanks to Alberta Opare whose excellent work helped prepare this Community Technology Survey as part of MUN's IBC program supported by Colette Rogers. It couldn't have been done without your support!
